APC Review: 21 Senators Fail Primaries, 4 Candidates Succeed

In the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) review of the Senate primaries, only four candidates succeeded, while 21 incumbent senators, including Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central) and Ned Nwoko (Delta North), did not pass the review. This review was part of the preparations for the January 16, 2027, national assembly elections.

The APC conducted the primaries earlier this year across 109 senatorial districts, with 25 out of 80 serving senators losing their positions. Notably, candidates Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Ogun West), Aliyu Wadada (Nasarawa West), and Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (Oyo South) successfully clinched governorship tickets in various states.

The review process revealed that the fate of the 21 senators who lost remains uncertain, impacting multiple senatorial districts across Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, Imo, Delta, Gombe, Kogi, Plateau, Edo, Niger, Osun, and Adamawa states. Meanwhile, the ADC and NDC confirmed their presidential ticket submissions to INEC for the upcoming elections.
