PDP Condemns Nigerian Senate's Rejection of Electronic Transmission of Election Results

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticized the Nigerian Senate's decision to reject the electronic transmission of election results during the ongoing amendment of the Electoral Act. Comrade Ini Ememobong, the PDP's National Public Secretary, described the Senate's action as shameful and harmful to democratic consolidation.

The PDP argues that electronic transmission would enhance electoral integrity and prevent manipulation, contrary to the Senate's belief that it could be manipulated. The party calls for an immediate reconsideration by the National Assembly to pass the amendment approving electronic transmission, emphasizing that it is a minimum reform needed to restore public confidence in the electoral process.

The PDP warns that the rejection of electronic transmission could worsen voter apathy and pose a danger to democracy and national stability.
