Nigerian Senate Orders NNPC to Refund Trillions Amid CEO's Absence

The Nigerian Senate has directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to refund an estimated N210 trillion of unaccounted funds following a report by the Auditor General. NNPC's CEO, Bayo Ojulari, failed to appear before the Senate committee, leading to displeasure among senators.

The audit revealed unaccounted transactions totaling N103 trillion in expenses and N107 trillion in revenue. The Senate rejected NNPC's explanations and urged Ojulari to admit the corporation's failure to account for funds.

This incident adds to previous allegations of missing funds in NNPC's operations.
