Senator Adeola Empowers 2,557 Farmers in Ogun State

On Tuesday, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola empowered 2,557 farmers in Ogun State during the second edition of his farmers’ empowerment programme at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion in Ilaro. The senator, representing Ogun West, provided beneficiaries with 10 tractors, 250 haulage tricycles, 1,500 knapsack sprayers, 8,000 bags of NPK and urea fertiliser, 1,000 solar and gasoline-powered water pumps, 1,000 seed planters, 17 power tillers, improved seeds and seedlings, organic fertilisers, and cash grants of N100,000 each.

Adeola stated that this initiative is part of efforts to support the Federal Government's food security agenda under the Renewed Hope programme, highlighting President Bola Tinubu's commitment to agriculture through significant investments. He mentioned the allocation of N100bn for the National Agriculture Development Fund and N12bn for the newly established Ministry of Livestock.

Adeola noted that the administration's economic reforms are contributing to a reduction in food inflation, with the rate dropping from 31.70% in February 2024 to 15.91% in June 2026.
