Senator Adeola Awards Scholarships to 5,513 Students

On Sunday, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, awarded scholarships and bursaries to 5,513 students during an event in Abeokuta. This marks the third edition of the programme, which aims to assist indigent students and prevent school dropouts due to financial constraints.

Adeola urged beneficiaries to use the funds for educational purposes, such as school fees and accommodation, rather than frivolous expenditures. He emphasized that the initiative is part of his campaign promises and complements the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun to enhance educational infrastructure in the state.

The programme aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). In previous editions, 1,700 students benefited in 2024, and 3,892 in 2025, with 1,735 receiving scholarships and 3,577 bursaries.

Prof. Tope Popoola, Chairman of the Scholarship Board, assured a transparent selection process for the beneficiaries.
