Senator Ekpenyong Praises APC Growth in South South

Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing Cross River South Senatorial District, commended Governor Bassey Otu's leadership style, describing it as exemplary. His remarks followed the emergence of Ben Akak through a consensus process within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ekpenyong's statement, made available to Punch Online on Thursday, emphasized that Otu's leadership fosters unity and strengthens the party's structure across the South South region. He noted that the recent APC national convention reflected the party's internal cohesion and leadership clarity, as highlighted by President Bola Tinubu.

Ekpenyong pointed out the significant growth of the APC in the South South, which saw an increase in alignment with the party's rule since the 2023 general elections. He mentioned that the region's political landscape has changed significantly, with broader acceptance of the APC across states like Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Rivers.

Ekpenyong also discussed the importance of consolidating the party's gains ahead of the 2027 elections.
