Senator Ikpea Promises Effective Representation for Edo Central

Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, representing Edo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, assured his constituents of sustained and effective representation during a town hall meeting on Tuesday at Uromi Town Hall. The meeting, themed “Deepening Legislative Accountability, Development Dialogue and Inclusive Participation,” aimed to foster engagement between the senator and various stakeholders, including political leaders, traditional stakeholders, and community representatives.

Ikpea stressed that legislative duties extend beyond the National Assembly and highlighted the need for regular consultations and accountability. He explained that constituency project funds are allocated to relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) rather than directly to senators.

He encouraged constituents to provide a needs analysis to inform his project execution. Additionally, he committed to leveraging his Senate position to attract meaningful projects and support human capital development.

Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe (Rtd.), the chairman of the occasion, praised the initiative for strengthening democratic governance.
