Senator Kingibe Attacked During ADC Primary in Abuja

Senator Ireti Kingibe was violently attacked during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primary in Abuja, suffering a severe head injury. The incident occurred on Thursday at the ADC state secretariat in Gudu District, where Kingibe was present to monitor electoral materials.

Tensions escalated when Tijani Mubarak arrived with a group of aggressive men, leading to a physical confrontation. The ADC electoral committee attempted to address the situation, but Mubarak's behavior provoked a violent response from his associates.

Kingibe was physically assaulted, thrown against a wall, and sustained acute head trauma. Following the attack, she was rushed to a medical facility for treatment of symptoms including blurred vision and intense migraines.

Kingibe has called for immediate police action against the perpetrators and criticized the rising trend of violence against female politicians, asserting that such barbaric acts will not be tolerated.
