Kabiru Marafa Joins ADC, Resigns from APC Over Neglect

Former Senator Kabiru Marafa has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in August 2025. Marafa's resignation was prompted by accusations against President Bola Tinubu for neglecting Zamfara State despite its support during the presidential election.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Marafa expressed concerns over political manipulation within the APC, including allegations of exploiting the National Identification Number database for partisan political registration. His decision to join the ADC comes amid internal disputes within the party, particularly following a March 12 appeal court judgment that derecognized a faction's leadership.

Marafa has called on the people of Zamfara State to rally behind the ADC, which he described as a credible platform for political transformation and good governance. He plans to return to his hometown to complete his formal exit from the APC and secure his ADC membership.
