Sokoto APC Rep Ambarura Joins ADC Ahead of Elections

Ambarura, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Illela/Gwadabawa Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The announcement was made during a plenary session on Wednesday, where Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu read Ambarura's letter of resignation from the APC.

In his letter, Ambarura expressed that his decision was made after wide consultations with his constituents and political associates, aiming to strengthen the capacity to serve the people of Illela/Gwadabawa. This defection is part of a broader trend, as several lawmakers have shifted parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Notably, Bade Jakusko from Yobe State also defected from the APC to the PDP, while other lawmakers from Kano and Kaduna states have made similar moves to the ADC and NNPP, indicating a significant political realignment in the lead-up to the elections.
