Kabiru Marafa Defects to ADC from APC Amid Crisis

Kabiru Marafa, the former senator representing Zamfara Central, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). His decision, announced via a statement from his media team on Thursday, comes amid ongoing internal disputes within the APC and follows his resignation from the party in August 2025.

Marafa expressed concerns over alleged political manipulation within the APC and accused President Bola Tinubu of neglecting Zamfara State despite receiving support during the presidential elections. He described his move to the ADC as a significant political step, emphasizing the need for a credible platform for good governance.

Marafa's decision followed a strategic stakeholders' meeting in Kaduna, where he consulted with political allies. He called on the people of Zamfara State to rally behind the ADC and announced plans for a major gathering in Gusau to consolidate support for his new political base.
