Senator Ningi Resigns from PDP After 28 Years of Service

Senator Ningi announced his resignation from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after 28 years of active membership. In a letter addressed to the PDP chairman, he expressed that his decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders and supporters.

Ningi, who has been a member of the PDP since its inception in 1998, served two terms in the House of Representatives and two terms as a senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District. He described the PDP as once being the largest political party in Africa, known for its strong ideological values that enabled participatory governance.

However, he cited internal leadership crises, factional divisions, and competing interests as factors that weakened the party's unity and structure. Ningi characterized his departure as a difficult decision in his political career but expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the PDP throughout his years of service.
