Senator Philip Aduda Resigns from PDP Amid Disagreements

Senator Philip Aduda, a long-time stalwart of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), officially resigned from the party on March 17, 2026. In a letter addressed to the chairman of the Karu ward, Aduda highlighted internal disagreements within the PDP and expressed his desire to remain politically relevant in a rapidly evolving national landscape.

He formally notified the party of his resignation, effective immediately, and acknowledged the opportunities the PDP provided him during his various electoral positions. Although he did not disclose his next political move, analysts believe he may join the All Progressives Congress (APC), identifying him as a close ally of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
