Senator Lamido Resigns from APC Over Insecurity Issues

Senator Lamido, representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to escalating insecurity affecting his constituents. He highlighted the persistent bandit attacks and the lack of adequate government response, which have left communities vulnerable and led to the destruction of villages and displacement of residents.

Lamido stressed that his decision to leave the party was not motivated by personal political ambitions but by the urgent need to address the security crisis affecting the livelihoods of his constituents. He consulted with political colleagues and community leaders before making this decision but did not disclose any plans to join another political platform.

Lamido called on the federal government to take stronger action against banditry to restore peace in Sokoto and warned that ongoing inaction could worsen the crisis.
