Senegal Refinery Strengthens Partnership with Sahara Group

The Société Africaine de Raffinage (SAR), Senegal’s national refinery, is pursuing a stronger partnership with Sahara Group to address energy supply challenges and improve energy security in the country. This initiative was discussed during a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Dakar, attended by President Bassirou Faye, SAR Managing Director Mamadou Diop, and Sahara Group Executive Director Wale Ajibade.

President Faye praised Sahara’s longstanding relationship with SAR and its contributions to Senegal’s energy sector, emphasizing the company's role as a trusted partner. Ajibade reaffirmed Sahara's commitment to supporting Senegal’s energy security and economic development, highlighting the importance of the partnership.

Diop noted Sahara's significant investments in Senegal and its crucial role in meeting the refinery's crude oil supply needs. The meeting aimed to enhance supply reliability and implement measures for long-term energy security in Senegal amid challenging global market conditions.
