Senior Customs Officer Elisha Tula Gwami Found Dead

Elisha Tula Gwami, a senior officer with the Nigeria Customs Service, was found dead in Bauchi, sparking speculation within the community regarding the circumstances of his death. Reports indicate that Gwami had been experiencing a period of ill health, anxiety, and emotional distress prior to his passing.

His father expressed shock during a condolence visit, noting that Gwami was healthy and active before the incident. The funeral arrangements are set for Wednesday, June 10, with burial services expected to take place in Bogoro LGA.

Gwami, aged 44, is survived by his parents, Mr. Saratu Elisha Gwami, and siblings.

The Nigeria Customs Service has dismissed suggestions that he took his own life, with Umar Abdullahi from the public relations office stating that there is no official information to support such claims. The officer had recently transferred to Tin Island Port and was on annual leave when the incident occurred.
