Seven Dead in Oyo Trailer Accident at Elewodo Bus Stop

On Tuesday, a tragic accident occurred at Elewodo Bus Stop in Ibadan, Oyo State, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals. The incident involved two trailers and two Micra cars.

According to Kehind Dahunsi, the Oyo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that the accident happened when a trailer lost its brakes while negotiating a turn, colliding with a Micra car that was unaware of the impending danger. The Micra was occupied by seven people, and the impact led to the immediate death of several passengers.

A woman and her twin children were injured and were quickly rushed to the University College Hospital in Ibadan for medical attention. The deceased were later taken to the mortuary at Odogbo Cantonment Barracks.

The FRSC stated that the accident was attributed to brake failure on the trailer.
