Seven Killed in Kogi State Auto Crash on Sunday

On Sunday afternoon, at approximately 12:30 PM, a tragic auto crash occurred near Osara Settlement in Kogi State, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals. According to Lawal Fagg from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the driver of a vehicle lost control after experiencing a tyre burst while driving at high speed.

This loss of control led the vehicle to veer off the track and collide with a stationary truck where a motor mate was fixing a punctured tyre. The impact was severe, killing the driver and six others at the scene.

Three individuals survived the crash but sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital in Oken for treatment. The deceased have been deposited at the same hospital, and an autopsy has been advised.

The FRSC emphasized the importance of drivers ensuring their vehicles are properly checked before embarking on journeys to prevent such incidents on the highways.
