Seven Aides of Jigawa Governor Resign for 2027 Elections

Seven aides of Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi have submitted their resignation letters in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, which requires public office holders seeking elective positions to step down within a stipulated timeframe. The resignations come as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among those who resigned is Aliyu Hussaini Usman, the Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs, who intends to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives for the Hadejia/Auyo/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency. Other aides who resigned include Sale Ahm Birniwa, Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization; Hassan Aliyu Musa, Special Adviser on Human Resources; Malam Mansur Shehu, Special Assistant on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Financial Inclusion; and Hamza Abdullahi, Senior Special Assistant on Education Monitoring.

Each former aide expressed gratitude to Governor Namadi for the opportunity to serve in his administration, describing their time in office as an honor and privilege.
