Army and DSS Foil Bandit Attack in Niger State

On Tuesday, the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and Local Volunteer Forces, successfully thwarted a significant attack by bandits in Bagna Erena, Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State. According to credible security sources, the operation was initiated following advanced intelligence regarding the planned assault.

The bandits, estimated to number around 300 and armed with dangerous weapons and motorcycles, attempted to storm the community. However, the security forces, aided by local volunteers, ambushed the attackers, resulting in the deaths of several bandits, while others fled towards Makuba and Allawa.

Residents expressed their gratitude towards the security forces for their gallantry, noting that their actions prevented a major disaster. The operation highlights the increasing collaboration between security agencies and local volunteer forces, which is crucial in bridging security gaps and enhancing community safety across the country.
