Passengers Injured in Plateau State Road Crash

On the day of the incident, an 18-seater bus, reportedly belonging to the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA), was traveling from Dabat to Anpan in Plateau State to attend a burial ceremony when it crashed near a sharp bend in Pankshin Local Government Area. The accident was described as terrible, with nearly all occupants suffering injuries of varying degrees.

Emergency medical services were quickly mobilized to treat the injured at nearby facilities. Fortunately, no deaths were recorded at the time of the rescue.

The scene of the accident became chaotic as community volunteers and first responders worked to free trapped victims and remove wreckage, which caused significant traffic gridlock on the busy route. Peter Longsan, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred along Shendam Road, with the crash site being located far from Mangu and Shendam.

The injured victims were subsequently taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
