Shaibu Urges Troops to Intensify Offensive Against Terrorists

On a recent assessment visit to the Joint Task Force North East headquarters in Maiduguri, Borno State, Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu directed troops to intensify their offensive against terrorists in the North East region of Nigeria. He urged the troops to sustain aggressive operations under Operation Hadin Kai, particularly during the final phase of Ramadan.

Shaibu commended the officers and soldiers for their resilience and sacrifices in defending civilians and degrading terrorist elements. He stressed the importance of improving coordination among units and maintaining robust intelligence gathering to enhance operational effectiveness.

Maj Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar briefed the Army Chief on recent operational achievements and challenges, assuring him of the troops' professionalism and commitment to the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign. Shaibu's directives aim to ensure that military pressure on terrorist elements continues, denying them freedom of movement and action.
