Army Chief Orders Intensified Offensive Against Terrorism

On Tuesday, during his maiden operational visit to the Special Forces Command in Doma, Nasarawa State, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, ordered the troops to intensify their offensive against terrorist insurgents across Nigeria. The directive, communicated through Army spokesperson Col. Appolonia Anel, aims to decisively defeat terrorist threats and dismantle criminal networks jeopardizing national security.

Shaibu stressed the importance of intelligence-driven operations and urged personnel to remain proactive and adaptable in their mission focus. He highlighted the evolving security environment, which demands speed and superior combat readiness.

Additionally, he received operational briefings from Major Gen. Olurotimi Azubuik Awo and Brig. Gen. Umar Faruk Abubakar, expressing satisfaction with the operational outlook and training standards. Shaibu also approved the construction of additional accommodation blocks to enhance training capacity and emphasized the welfare of troops and their families as a priority amidst rising insecurity in the North Central region.
