Bwala Denies Calling Tinubu Illegitimate President

Daniel Bwala, serving as the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has publicly rejected claims that he referred to Tinubu as an illegitimate president. During an interview on the KAA TRUTHS podcast, Bwala clarified that it was activist Aisha Yesufu who labeled Tinubu as such.

He criticized Yesufu's stance on the legitimacy of Tinubu's presidency, especially after the Supreme Court's ruling on the 2023 presidential election. Bwala argued that once an election dispute is resolved by the Supreme Court, its decision should be respected by all parties involved.

He stated, “Nobody in Nigeria, even the opposition, including Kenneth Okonkwo, called the President illegitimate, it is only Aisha and that’s because she is ignorant and doesn’t know what the law is.” Bwala emphasized that even if an election is flawed, the Supreme Court's final decision validates the election, and all parties should accept it.
