Enenche Defends Christianity Against Jingir's Remarks

During a Sunday service at the Gospel Centre in Abuja, Pastor Paul Enenche declared that Christianity is not subordinate to any religion in Nigeria, in response to comments made by Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahya Jingir. Enenche condemned Jingir's remarks, which suggested that Christianity was secondary to other faiths, labeling such views as unacceptable.

He emphasized that Christians are a substantial demographic across Nigeria and warned against underestimating the Christian community's influence. Enenche criticized individuals making divisive statements that could exacerbate religious tensions and harm national unity.

He called on security agencies to monitor comments that could incite violence and urged religious and political leaders to act responsibly to maintain harmony. Jingir's comments, made in support of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket for the 2027 elections, were made during an event attended by prominent political figures, including Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, where he praised President Bola Tinubu's previous Muslim-Muslim ticket.
