Shettima Visits Kwara After Woro Massacre, Heightening Security Concerns

Vice President Tunde Idiagbon arrived in Kwara following the Woro massacre, where gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists attacked the community, killing 100 residents and abducting women and girls. Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Senator Sadiq Umar, along with other top government officials, received Shettima at the Ilorin International Airport.

The visit aimed to assess the security situation and review ongoing security operations in response to the mass killing. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the immediate deployment of soldiers to stabilize the community and prevent further attacks.

The attack has drawn widespread condemnation, with victims being treated in hospitals in Ilorin and neighboring towns. The incident is described as one of the deadliest attacks in Kwara state's recent history, raising concerns about security in the region.
