Shettima Welcomes Governor Yusuf into APC, Marks Shift

On a significant day for Kano's political landscape, Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, welcomed Governor Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress (APC). The event attracted a large crowd, showcasing party support from various stakeholders across the country.

Shettima described Kano as a cosmopolitan state with a historical role in shaping Nigeria's political, commercial, and cultural landscape. He congratulated Governor Yusuf for his courageous decision to join the APC, assuring him of the party's support.

Shettima also conveyed President Tinubu's sympathy for victims of a recent fire outbreak at a market in Kano, announcing a federal government approval of ₦5 billion for their assistance. The APC Governor Forum pledged additional financial support for affected traders.

Governor Yusuf emphasized the need for political stability to accelerate development in Kano, highlighting the importance of unity among party members to foster progress. He noted that nine out of ten members of the Kano House of Representatives and major local government chairmen joined the APC, reflecting a collective commitment to stability and progress.
