Shettima and Fubara Launch 33.5km Rivers Road Project

On Thursday, Vice President Kashim Shettima and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara commissioned the 33.5-kilometre Elele–Egbeda–Omoku Dual Carriageway. Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu at the event, which took place after his arrival at Port Harcourt International Airport, where he was welcomed by Fubara and other officials.

The road project, traversing Ikwerre, Emohua, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas, is expected to enhance connectivity, facilitate the movement of goods and people, and bolster economic activities in the benefiting communities. Shettima remarked on the critical role of infrastructure in expanding economic opportunities, stating that roads serve various societal needs.

He noted the previous state of the road, characterized by deep gullies and security concerns, and praised the project for its modern features. Shettima commended Fubara for his commitment to public resources in completing the project, while Fubara described the road as a demonstration of his administration's dedication to the communities along the corridor.
