Shettima, Obasanjo, Jonathan Attend Soludo's Inauguration

On Tuesday, dignitaries including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan arrived at Chinua Achebe Airport in Umueri to attend the inauguration of Governor Charles Soludo for his second term. The inauguration ceremony is expected to attract several high-profile individuals, including elder statesmen and former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku.

The event will take place at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square, with traditional rulers from 179 communities in Anambra State also in attendance. Governor Soludo was re-elected on November 8, 2025, under the platform of the Progress Grand Alliance.

Security has been tightened across the state, with personnel from the Nigeria Police, Security Civil Defence Corps, and Federal Road Safety Corps deployed to strategic locations to ensure safety during the inauguration.
