Shettima Urges NCS to Uphold World-Class Standards

During the 8th meeting of the National Council for Skill Development held at the State House in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima tasked the council with ensuring that made-in-Nigeria products and services meet world-class standards. He emphasized the need to harness the innovative spirit of Nigerians, particularly in the context of the ongoing industrial revolution.

Shettima highlighted the council's responsibility to prepare for the 48th WorldSkills competition in Shanghai in 2026, which will showcase skilled young professionals globally. He called for collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education and the Industrial Training Fund to achieve these goals.

The meeting included dignitaries such as Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and Minister of Education Morufu Tunji Alausa. Shettima also noted a proposal from Dangote Industries to conduct a training program for 100 candidates across five high-demand skill areas, reinforcing the commitment to skill development as a pathway to economic growth.
