Shinkafi Seeks Zamfara North Senate Seat for 2027 Elections

Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially picked up a nomination form to contest for the Zamfara North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

In a press statement issued on Saturday by his special adviser on legal matters, Barr. Yazid Salihu Aliyu, Shinkafi emphasized his desire to run for the Senate due to the lack of effective representation for the people of Zamfara North since the return to democracy in 1999.

He aims to address the marginalization experienced by the region and to ensure that the local government areas have a voice in the Senate. Shinkafi, who has previously served in various political roles including as a patron of the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign council in 2023, believes that his candidacy will contribute to better governance and attract federal projects to the constituency, alleviating the challenges faced by the people, including issues related to banditry and displacement.
