PRP Dismisses Terrorism Allegations Against Shehu Buba

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has publicly dismissed allegations of terrorism against Shehu Buba, the lawmaker representing Bauchi South Senatorial District. In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, on Friday, the PRP called on Nigerians to present any evidence supporting the claims against Buba.

The party expressed concern that these allegations are part of a deliberate campaign to damage Buba's reputation, describing them as a "tissue of lies and unrestrained mischief." The PRP referenced Section 127(c) of the Electoral Act, which penalizes the publication of false statements that could harm a candidate's electoral prospects. The statement follows Buba's denial of recent allegations linking him to banditry, which he characterized as a sustained campaign of disinformation and character assassination.

The PRP believes that Buba's popularity has prompted rivals to resort to spreading falsehoods about him.
