PRP Defends Senator Buba Against Banditry Allegations

The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) issued a statement defending its governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Senator Shehu Buba, against allegations of involvement in banditry and kidnapping. The statement, signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, emphasized the party's confidence in Buba as they approach the 2026 general elections.

The PRP described the allegations as a campaign of calumny orchestrated by those threatened by Buba's rising popularity. The statement urged security agencies to take legal action against individuals making false claims, referencing Section 127(c) of the Electoral Act 2026, which outlines penalties for publishing false statements about candidates.

The PRP asserted that Buba is a trustworthy candidate who has actively worked to combat criminality in the country. The party reiterated its commitment to integrity and responsibility in its representation.
