Lawyer Maxwell Opara Criticizes Governor Soludo's Market Shutdown as Executive Recklessness

Nigerian lawyer Maxwell Opara has condemned Anambra State Governor Soludo for the sudden shutdown of Onitsha Main Market, describing it as executive recklessness and an abuse of power. Opara highlighted that the traders had flouted the closure order, leading to a disregard for the sit-at-home directive.

He emphasized that Soludo's decision infringed on the rights of traders and individuals to engage in private businesses. Opara suggested that the best approach for Governor Soludo would be to engage in dialogue and release the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to bring an end to the weekly sit-at-home order in Anambra State.
