This statement was made ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Simeone addressed speculation surrounding Alvarez's potential move to Atletico Madrid in 2024, especially with Manchester City already having made him a key figure in their squad. Additionally, Simeone provided an update on Ademola Lookman's fitness, who is not fully clear to return after sustaining an injury during the Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad.

Lookman was forced off in the second half of that match and subsequently missed a La Liga match against Elche CF. Simeone praised Lookman's impact on Atletico's attack, highlighting his contributions, including two goals and two assists in six Champions League appearances this season.
