NAPTIP Investigates Alleged Child Abuse by Simi

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) announced an investigation into alleged child sexual abuse involving Nigerian singer and actress Simisola Kosoko. This follows the resurfacing of a 2012 social media post that sparked public concern.

The controversy began when netizens highlighted a post where Simi allegedly referenced inappropriate interactions with a four-year-old child, suggesting the child had a crush on her. This led to calls for a formal investigation into the matter.

In response to the backlash, Simi stated that her post was made when she was 23 years old and was misinterpreted, emphasizing that she does not engage in inappropriate behavior. NAPTIP affirmed its commitment to investigating credible reports of child abuse and urged anyone with factual information to come forward.

Additionally, Simi's management team has begun removing older posts to safeguard her family.
