Lagos Agency Urges Victims to Testify in Simi Case

The Lagos State Domestic Sexual Violence Agency, represented by Executive Secretary Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, has called on victims to come forward and testify in the ongoing investigation concerning allegations involving singer Simi. This appeal comes as Ogun State authorities have launched an investigation into the claims.

Vivour-Adeniyi emphasized the importance of victims reporting incidents to facilitate legal action, noting the challenges survivors face without their testimonies. The agency is also addressing renewed discussions on social media regarding Simi's past comments about daycare practices from 2012-2013, which have been interpreted in various ways.

In response to these discussions, the agency announced it would investigate credible reports of child abuse and misconduct in daycare centers across Nigeria. NAPTIP has encouraged anyone with firsthand evidence to reach out confidentially via direct message or email.
