Simon Cletus Joins HNK Rijeka on Three-Year Deal

Simon Cletus, the ex-captain of Nigeria's Golden Eaglets, has officially signed a three-year deal with HNK Rijeka, a club in the Croatian top flight. Cletus, an 18-year-old student at Palm Villa College in Lagos, was under the tutelage of coach Manu Garba.

He is recognized for his exceptional midfield skills, including visionary passing, sleek dribbling, and goal-scoring ability. Recently, he led the Golden Eaglets to a bronze medal finish at the 2024 WAFU B U-17 tournament held in Accra, Ghana.

Cletus is a product of Mavlon FC in Lagos and joins other Nigerian players like Momoh Muntari and Wahab Musa, who have also made moves to European clubs. His transfer to HNK Rijeka is part of a growing trend of Nigerian youth talent making their mark in European football.
