Singer Portable Denied Bail Over Assault and Theft Charges in Ogun State Court

Portable, a controversial singer, has been arraigned in the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, facing nine criminal charges, including assault, theft, causing harm, and resisting arrest. The charges stem from various incidents, including an alleged assault on his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple.

The singer is accused of attacking Ashabi and several police officers in the Iyana Ilogbo area on New Year's Day. Additionally, he is accused of stealing a Mercedes Benz E300 worth 12 million Naira.

Portable was denied bail due to the seriousness of the charges and is remanded in custody pending a fresh bail hearing on January 19.
