Portable Reflects on Childhood Struggles and Education

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, recounted his difficult childhood and education struggles during an interview on Bunch Podcast. He revealed that he sold sachet water to finance his education, as he lacked sponsorship from parents or guardians.

Portable explained that his financial difficulties significantly affected his ability to complete his studies, stating that he had to combine schooling with petty trade to survive. Despite these setbacks, he maintained a desire to obtain an education and emphasized the importance of learning regardless of his success in the music industry.

Currently a student at Kwara State Polytechnic, Portable expressed his intention to graduate despite his busy schedule in the entertainment industry. He also shared insights about his family background, mentioning that his father sponsored the education of his siblings while he had to fend for himself.
