Portable Rejects EFCC Invitation Over Naira Abuse Claims

Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has declined an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) concerning allegations of naira abuse linked to a recent event. In a video shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Portable confirmed he received an official letter from the EFCC but stated he would not appear before the agency at this time.

He has instructed his lawyer to manage the situation on his behalf, citing the current insecurity and hardship in Nigeria. Portable emphasized that he prioritizes his family's safety and mentioned that he would delay his appearance until September, arguing that the country is not stable.

He criticized the EFCC's approach, claiming it is harsh and unnecessary, and expressed concerns about the agency's focus on entertainment figures while ignoring serious national security issues. Portable also pointed out that many public figures engage in similar acts without facing scrutiny, questioning the selective enforcement of the law.
