Anambra Students Face Suspension for Non-Attendance

Prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh, the Commissioner for Education in Anambra State, issued a warning that students who do not attend school on Monday will face a one-week suspension.

This announcement was made during an address at Mount Oliv School in Onitsha on Wednesday. The directive is part of the state government's efforts to ensure the full resumption of academic activities across Anambra, following instructions from Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Udeh emphasized the need for schools to comply with this directive, as attendance has reportedly improved at Spring Field Academy, although some parents remain reluctant to send their children to school. In addition, the Ministry of Education is preparing for the 2026 transit placement examination, which Udeh is monitoring alongside Dr.

Ifeoma Agbaizu, the permanent secretary. They visited various centers, including Unizik Demonstration School, Igwebez Primary School, and Igwebuik Grammar School, located in Awka.
