Anambra State Mandates Monday School Resumption, Threatens Defaulters

Anambra State has directed schools to resume academic activities on Mondays, threatening closure for non-compliance. The State Commissioner for Education, Prof.

Ngozi Chuma Udeh, issued a statement warning that schools failing to resume on Mondays will face immediate closure. This move comes after the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, ordered the return of public, private, and mission schools across the state.

The directive aims to end the disruptions caused by the sit-at-home order originally declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in support of detained leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The State Government has also warned teachers and non-tutorial staff of consequences, including salary deductions or forfeitures, for failing to comply with the resumption directive.
