Six Dead, 12 Injured in Kwara Road Crash on April 2

On April 2, 2023, at approximately 6:00 AM, a fatal road traffic accident occurred along the Okolowo-Jebba Expressway in Kwara State, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuries to 12 others. The collision involved a Toyota Hummer bus, which was transporting 18 passengers from Lagos State to Katsina State, and a stationary truck with registration number BTR 161 XA.

The truck was reportedly driven by Kamarudeen Abdullahi from the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The impact of the collision led to the immediate death of six passengers at the scene, while 12 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The injured victims were rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention, and the deceased were deposited at the hospital's morgue pending autopsy. Police investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
