Four Dead, Eight Injured in Ogun State Bus Crash

On April 5, 2026, a fatal accident occurred around 9:18 PM on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, involving a Toyota Hiace bus. The bus, which was carrying 13 people, reportedly suffered a tire burst while traveling at high speed, leading to the crash.

According to Afolabi Odunsi Oyewol, spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident resulted in four fatalities, all adult males, and eight injuries, comprising seven adult males and one adult female. The FRSC rescue team arrived at the scene within two minutes, and the injured were immediately evacuated to Famobi Hospital for urgent medical attention, while the deceased were taken to Idera Morgue.

The vehicle, registered as AGL789YL, has been taken into custody by the Motor Traffic Division of the Redeemed Police Station for further investigation. Akinwunmi Fasakin, the sector command, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and urged motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits and ensure their tires are in good condition, especially during the Easter period.
