SKF Accuses el-Rufai of Undue Influence in ADC Selection

The Southern Kaduna Political Forum (SKF) has alleged that former Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has exerted undue political influence in the emergence of Isa Ashiru Kudan and Irimiya Kantiyok as governorship candidates for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State. This position was articulated during a press conference held on Monday at the Epitome Event Center in Barnawa, Kaduna.

Comrade Boniface Ishaku Kambai, the convener of the forum, stated that the ADC's decision-making process appears to be dominated by el-Rufai, undermining democratic values such as consultation and inclusiveness. Kambai emphasized that the selection of the deputy governorship candidate lacked broad-based consultation with stakeholders, community leaders, and youth groups from Southern Kaduna.

Consequently, the SKF has rejected the nomination entirely, expressing concerns that major decisions within the ADC in Kaduna are increasingly influenced by a narrow political circle associated with el-Rufai, rather than through transparent internal party processes.
