Delta Police Confirm Slain Musician's Body Awaiting Autopsy

The Delta State Police Command has clarified that the body of 28-year-old musician Oghenemin Ogidi is not missing, as suggested by social media rumors. Public Relations Officer Bright Edaf stated that Ogidi's body is currently held at a mortuary facility within the jurisdiction of Delta State and that the family will be allowed to see it whenever they request.

Edaf dismissed claims that the family was denied access to the body as false. The police are legally bound to conduct a thorough forensic examination due to the suspected murder, making an autopsy compulsory.

The incident, which involved Ogidi being shot in broad daylight, has led to the involvement of police officers from the Effurun command, with further disciplinary action approved by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu against those involved in Ogidi's death.
