Northern Leaders Warn of Social Media Threat to National Security

Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar and other Northern leaders raised concerns about the impact of social media on national security during a summit in Kaduna. They highlighted the dangers of misinformation, hate speech, and divisiveness fueled by online platforms.

The leaders called for regulation to prevent social media from being used to sow discord and emphasized the importance of promoting unity and responsible online conduct. Sheikh Ahmad Gumi also addressed the insecurity in the region, attributing it to poverty, ignorance, and external manipulation.

The summit aimed to address rising insecurity and moral decay in Northern Nigeria.
