Sokoto ADC Adopts Atiku Abubakar as Presidential Candidate

The Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially adopted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its sole presidential candidate ahead of the party's presidential primaries scheduled for Monday. This decision was announced during a press briefing at the party's secretariat in Sokoto by Muktari Magori, the former Chief of Staff to ex-Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The consensus to adopt Abubakar was reached after wide consultations among party leaders and stakeholders across the state, reflecting the confidence of ADC members in his leadership experience and political pedigree. Magori emphasized that Abubakar possesses the necessary qualities to lead the nation effectively and that his candidacy would strengthen the democratic process in Nigeria, offering a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was attended by prominent ADC stakeholders, including senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, and members of the state working committee led by party chairman Abdullahi Maigwandu.
