Sokoto Approves N1.7bn for Motorcycles to Combat Banditry

The Sokoto State Executive Council, chaired by Deputy Governor Idris Muhammad Gobir, approved N1.7 billion for the procurement of 1,000 motorcycles aimed at enhancing efforts to combat banditry in the region. This initiative is intended to complement the 62 armoured vehicles worth N27 billion that were recently acquired and distributed to security agencies to improve operations in areas affected by banditry.

In addition to the motorcycle procurement, the council approved various projects across multiple sectors, including N723.17 million for the renovation of Government Technical College, Runjin Sambo, and N498.99 million for the rehabilitation of A.A.
